If you are unable to use Google Authenticator or need to rebind it, follow these steps to reset Google Authenticator and ensure the security of your DeepTradeX account.
1.Reset Using the Backup Key
When you first set up Google Authenticator, DeepTradeX provides a backup key. If you still have this key, you can reset Google Authenticator by following these steps:
- Download and install the Google Authenticator app.
- Open the app and choose to either scan a QR code or manually enter a setup key.
- Enter the backup key provided by DeepTradeX to rebind Google Authenticator.
2.Reset Without the Backup Key
If you have lost the backup key, you will need to contact DeepTradeX’s customer support team and provide identity verification details to reset Google Authenticator. The reset process typically involves:
- Identity Verification: The DeepTradeX support team will ask for account-related information, such as identification documents, the registered phone number, or other details to verify your identity.
- Security Verification: Depending on DeepTradeX’s security policies, you may need to answer account security questions or complete additional verification steps to ensure account safety.
- Disabled Current 2FA: Once your identity is verified, the support team will assist in disabling the current Google Authenticator setup, allowing you to configure a new one.
3.Set Up a New Google Authenticator
After the reset is complete, follow these steps to set up a new Google Authenticator:
- Log in to your DeepTradeX account and navigate to Security Settings.
- Select the option to enable Google Authenticator and follow the prompts to bind it.
- Use the verification code generated by the new Google Authenticator to secure your account.
4.Important Notes
- Save the New Backup Key: During the setup process, ensure you securely store the new backup key for future resets.
- Synchronize Device Time: Make sure your device’s time is synced with the network to avoid issues with invalid verification codes.
